Born in New York and raised in Boston, I’ve been shooting professionally in Los Angeles for the last fifteen years, although my exposure to photography and art started early on. As a child, I was always surrounded by my Dad’s beautiful photographs and my Mom’s stirring oil and watercolor paintings. My Dad used to shoot and print the most incredible black & white images of our family; our New York City apartment constantly displaying great new shots of me playing with my brother or learning about the world with my Mom. It is from growing up around the emotion and beauty of my parents' work that I learned to observe and capture the perfection of a moment, be it a sunset melting into the ocean, clear and present love between friends or family, or pure joy in a child’s face.
Along with photography, I have also been an actor for twenty years, and this is another thing that makes me stand out above my peers. Using various acting exercises to relax you and access your unique emotions and experiences, my photo shoots are comfortable, fun collaborations in which we work together to bring out your most specific, truthful self. I will guide you as much or as little as necessary to find your different attitudes and personalities. I like to keep things loose. It’s not really like a photo shoot, but more like two people hanging out with a camera and some music of your choice, talking about the people and things in your life that bring out your individual joy and passion; your sense of challenge and danger.
